PM Modi Receives Warm Messages From Gary Kirsten And Jonty Rhodes Ahead of His Visit to South Africa

In the excitement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming trip to South Africa, cricketing icons Gary Kirsten and Jonty Rhodes have shared video messages for PM Modi. 


These messages convey their heartfelt greetings as well as extend a warm welcome to PM Modi as he gets ready to set foot in the country to participate in the 15th BRICS Summit.

In a heartfelt video message, Rhodes expressed, "Namaskar Modi ji. Welcome to the BRICS conference. We know as South Africans that you have a massive role on the international political and economic scene and we thank you for your input". He also fondly talked about his family's 'wonderful' two-week experience in 'Incredible India' in the video. 


Gary Kirsten, who was the former coach of the Indian team during their historic 2011 World Cup victory, expressed his honour in extending a warm welcome to Prime Minister Modi and his delegation to South Africa.

In a heartfelt video message, Rhodes expressed, "Namaskar Modi ji. Welcome to the BRICS conference.

He shared, "I have been very fortunate to spend lots of time in India during my playing and coaching career. I also have many fun memories during my time coaching team India and was so grateful for the support of the Indian people." 


Kristen further remarked, "This year will also be very special for global cricket when the World Cup returns to India. Wish you and all global leaders for the upcoming BRICS summit."


Both Rhodes as well as Kirsten share a connection with India that extends well beyond the boundaries of cricket. Each in their unique roles these two South African icons have left a significant impact on Indian cricket.


At the invitation of South Africa's President, Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, PM Modi is scheduled to visit Johannesburg, South Africa, from August 22nd to August 24th. During this time, he will also be participating in the 15th BRICS Summit.
