In a visit to the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics (NACIN) at Palasamudram, Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated the government's commitment to transparent governance. Modi highlighted that the tax money collected is systematically reinvested back into the people's welfare through various channels.

Over the past decade, extensive reforms have been implemented in the tax system to enhance its accessibility for the common people. The previous complex tax structure, often incomprehensible to citizens, was overhauled to facilitate understanding. Modi emphasized the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), representing a modernized tax approach. Additionally, simplifying the Income Tax system and initiating a faceless tax assessment process has further streamlined financial procedures, positively impacting honest taxpayers and businesses.
