Rahul Gandhi, a prominent member of Congress, delivered an impactful address to the Indian community residing in San Francisco. His discourse revolved around the essential values of togetherness, democratic practices, and the importance of questioning dominant mindsets. Gandhiji conveyed his appreciation to the Indian-American population for embodying Indian culture in the United States and underscored the significance of reciprocal appreciation and education among nations. He drew attention to the triumph of the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', a walking campaign that advocated harmony and received immense backing despite government's efforts to impede it.
During his address, Gandhi made a critical reference
to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, censuring specific factions in India that
showcase conceit and assert to possess all the solutions. He emphasized the
importance of the varied languages and faiths prevalent in India, expressing
his concern over their present vulnerability to aggression. Gandhi made
reference to the principles imparted by eminent personalities such as Gandhi Ji
and Guru Nanak Ji, who endorsed modesty and warned against the presumption of
possessing complete knowledge.
During his stay in the United States, Gandhi traveled to San Francisco, Washington DC, and New York City for a period of ten days. He gave a lecture on artificial intelligence at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in San Francisco and interacted with the Indian community to gain insight into their viewpoints. Gandhi spoke at the National Press Club in Washington DC, where he discussed the upcoming trajectory of Indian democracy, as well as emphasized the importance of both freedom of speech and all-inclusive economic development. During his visit, he had also intended to engage in discussions with legislators and research institutions to share perspectives. While in New York, Gandhi engaged with a group of intelligent individuals, had the chance to connect with Indian-Americans involved in creative fields, and gave a speech to the public.
It is worth mentioning that Gandhi's arrival took
place shortly after Prime Minister Modi's visit to three countries, namely
Japan, Papua New Guinea, and Australia. On another point, Gandhi was recently
issued a regular passport after receiving approval from a Delhi court.
