The ministry is now planning to install panic buttons in Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation (UP Roadways) buses. This button can be used by passengers in an emergency. Officials say police arrive within 10 to 15 minutes as soon as the emergency button on the bus is pressed. The department will also receive information about this.

Ensuring the safety and safety of passengers traversing Uttar Pradesh's roadways is paramount for the ministry, prompting the creation of a pioneering measure in the Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation (UP Roadways). Through the installation of panic buttons in buses, a unique initiative is being added using the Uttar Pradesh State Transport Authority. These panic buttons serve as an important lifeline for passengers all through emergencies, ensuring fast reaction from regulation enforcement agencies. Upon activation, the government is immediately alerted, allowing them to unexpectedly reach the distressed bus within 10 to 15 minutes. This proactive degree underscores the ministry's unwavering dedication to safeguarding the welfare of commuters visiting throughout Uttar Pradesh's expansive street network.

Transport Corporation Regional Manager Rubu Kumar Singh said passengers can report accidents, assaults, and any other inconvenience to the agency by using the panic button, after which action will be taken immediately.

Luv Kumar Singh said all road buses would be equipped with panic buttons by next month. Equipped with emergency buttons, half of the buses have undergone installation, with ongoing efforts to outfit the remaining fleet. Activation of the emergency button triggers a swift response, with police intervention expected within a span of 10 to 15 minutes upon pressing. This measure ensures passenger safety by providing a direct line of communication in urgent situations, reassuring commuters of prompt assistance in times of need.

This device is installed on 780 buses

According to the district administration, 780 buses in the Gorakhpur area now have panic buttons fitted. There are 330 buses with the equipment installed. Next month, panic buttons will be installed on all remaining buses. Buses are equipped with panic buttons for emergencies, enhancing the safety of women. Pressing the panic button might result in statistics being sent to the staff of the Swedish Transport Agency as well as the police. At the shipping company's headquarters, a command center may likewise be established, allowing buses to be watched over 24 hours a day.
