Preparations are in full swing for the grand Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi gracing the event as the chief guest. The government has declared a half-day holiday for all central offices to encourage participation in the festivities.

In sync with the central government, several states have also declared January 22 as a public holiday. In Goa, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has officially declared a public holiday for all state government departments, autonomous bodies, and corporations. Similar declarations have been made in Haryana, where Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced a holiday for schools, coupled with a 'dry day' banning alcohol sales and consumption.

Madhya Pradesh, governed by the BJP, follows suit by declaring January 22 as a holiday for all educational institutions. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasizes the significance of the day, declaring it a 'dry day' to respect public sentiments. Assam has announced a half-day holiday in all state government offices and educational institutions until 2:30 pm on an eventful day.

In Odisha, state government offices, along with revenue and magisterial courts, will be closed until 2:30 pm, aligning with the celebrations in Ayodhya. Chhattisgarh, led by Vishnu Deo Sai, has also joined the festivities by declaring a holiday for all educational institutions, accompanied by a 'dry day.'

Despite these declarations, the Jharkhand BJP urges the state government to follow suit, while Karnataka opts for a different approach. Private schools in Karnataka plan to live-stream the ceremony for students, as the Associated Managements of Schools issue a directive to forego a holiday and embrace the digital celebration.

This collective decision by multiple states showcases a unified celebration across the nation, marking the auspicious occasion of the Ram Mandir consecration in Ayodhya on January 22.
