According to CNN's report on Thursday, Donald Trump, the former US President, has entered a not guilty plea in the Georgia election interference case. As a result, he has opted not to attend the upcoming court appearance in Fulton County Court in Atlanta next week.

Donald Trump, the leading candidate for the 2024 presidential election, is one of 19 individuals accused of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election outcome in the state.

Georgia's legal system permits defendants to forego their physical presence and formally enter a plea via court documents, as reported by CNN.

Furthermore, this marks Trump's fourth time pleading not guilty to criminal charges since his departure from the presidency. In this instance, Trump faces racketeering charges for his purported actions aimed at disrupting the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, a Democrat, requested the judge overseeing the case last week to set a trial date of October 23, 2023, for all 19 defendants, including Trump, in Georgia, even though no official trial date has been established yet.

Previously, Trump turned himself in at the Fulton County jail in Atlanta regarding the Georgia election subversion case. However, as per jail records cited by CNN, he was subsequently released on bond.

According to jail records, the former US President was arrested and processed at the Fulton County jail on Thursday night, US local time, concerning his involvement in the Georgia election subversion case.
