The Congress party, gearing up for the forthcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana, has officially disclosed its initial list of prospective candidates. The party's announcement, made on a Sunday, has marked a significant milestone in their preparations for the electoral battles that lie ahead.

In a strategic move, the Congress has selected a total of 144 candidates for the Madhya Pradesh elections, demonstrating a strong commitment to regain political influence in the state. Among the notable names, the former chief minister and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief, Kamal Nath, will be contesting from his Chhindwara assembly constituency. Additionally, Jaivardhan Singh, the son of former chief minister Digvijaya Singh, has been nominated for the Raghigath seat. Singh previously served as a minister in the Kamal Nath government.

The party has further solidified its presence in Chhattisgarh, with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel being fielded from his Patan assembly constituency. Deputy Chief Minister T. S. Singh Deo has also secured his candidacy for the Ambikapur assembly seat.

In Telangana, the Congress has appointed Anumala Revanth Reddy, the Pradesh Congress chief, as the candidate for the Kodangal assembly seat. Meanwhile, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, leader of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP), will be contesting from the Madhira-SC seat.

Lastly, Telangana will conduct its assembly polls on November 30, promising an intense period of political activity in the region.

The electoral fate of these candidates and the balance of power in the respective assemblies will be revealed to the public on December 3, when the results are officially declared. The Congress's careful selection of candidates has set the stage for a fierce political showdown in these central Indian states.
