West Indies Levels Match ODI Series

On Sunday, West Indies leveled the three match ODI against India held at Bridgetown by 1-1. Windies had a 6 wickets victory as Indian bowlers failed to defend a low score of 182.

India bundled up at 181 in 40.5 overs. Indian openers Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan got off to an excellent start, guiding the team past the 50-run mark in 10.3 overs. Among them, left-handed Kishan was the more aggressive batsman, completing his fifty in just 51 balls. However, the partnership of 90 runs came to an end when Gill was caught by Alzarri Joseph off Gudakesh Motie's slow left-arm orthodox bowling, scoring 34. Soon after, Kishan was also dismissed by Romario Shepherd for 55, leaving India at 95 for 2. Axar Patel was sent up the order but couldn't make an impact, getting caught behind by wicket-keeper Shai Hope off Romario Shepherd's bowling, adding to India's troubles at 97.

Sanju Samson and captain Hardik Pandya came out to bat, helping the team surpass a total of 100 runs. However, India faced another setback when Pandya was dismissed by Jayden Seales for 7, leaving them struggling at 113/4. Samson soon followed his captain, getting dismissed for 9 by Yannic Cariah, causing India to lose half of their side at 113. The game was interrupted by rain.

After the rain break, Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja came in to bat and looked promising in taking India to a respectable total. However, their 23-run partnership was broken as Jadeja was caught by Cariah off Shepherd's bowling, and India lost their sixth wicket at 146. Suryakumar Yadav was also dismissed in the next over for 24 runs, making it 148/7 for India. Later, Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav added some runs, but rain stopped play again with India at 167/8.

When the play resumed, Umran Malik was quickly dismissed for no score, resulting in India's ninth wicket falling at 167. Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav showed some resilience and managed to take India's total to 181, but Mukesh Kumar was eventually out for 6, caught by Motie. The Indian innings came to an end in 40.5 overs.

Motie and Shepherd were the standout bowlers for the West Indies, each claiming three wickets.
