UP's Kaushambi: Gunfight Leads to Arrest of History-Sheeter Involved in Cow Slaughter, Smuggling

In Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi, Rais Ahmed, a notorious criminal involved in cow slaughter and animal smuggling, was apprehended after a gunfight with the police. Ahmed, a history-sheeter with a criminal record, had 23 cases against him, including charges under various animal-related laws. The arrest took place following an informant's tip-off, leading to a successful police operation.

In Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh, the police successfully apprehended Rais Ahmed, a notorious criminal involved in a series of heinous crimes related to cow slaughter, animal smuggling, and theft. The arrest came after a confrontation between Ahmed and the police in the Karari police station area.

Rais Ahmed, a resident of Turtipur, had a cash reward of Rs 25,000 on his head. Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Srivastava stated that they received information about Ahmed's presence in the area from an informant. Acting on this information, the police surrounded the area to arrest him.

Ahmed attempted to flee and fired at the police team, resulting in a gunfight. However, the police retaliated, injuring Ahmed in his right leg. He was subsequently admitted to the district hospital for treatment.

This notorious criminal had a history of evading the law. He was wanted in numerous cases, including cow slaughter, animal smuggling, and theft. Srivastava disclosed that Ahmed had a criminal record with 23 cases against him across various districts, including Kaushambi, Chitrakoot, and Prayagraj.

Moreover, Ahmed had a previous arrest in 2018 under the National Security Act. He was identified as a history-sheeter at the Karari police station in Kaushambi district. The arrest marked a significant breakthrough in curbing criminal activities related to animal offenses in the region.
