Uncle of Late Iranian Activist Mahsa Amini Arrested Ahead of Anniversary Protests

Safa Aeli, the uncle of the late Iranian Kurdish activist Mahsa Amini, was imprisoned by Iranian officials just days before the first anniversary of Amini's terrible death. Safa Aeli, 30, was brought into custody by security forces in her hometown of Saqez, western Iran. The Iranian government apparently sent a group of five vehicles to Aeli's house and barged in without a warrant or other justification.
