Renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli embarked on an exhilarating global journey, courtesy of his 2022 film RRR. The movie, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles, achieved remarkable recognition at prestigious award ceremonies, including the Golden Globes and the Oscars. After months of international travel, Rajamouli devoted the last week of June to explore the breathtaking temples of Tamil Nadu. The director shared a captivating video showcasing his visits to iconic sites like the Brihadeeswara Temple in Thanjavur, Rameshwaram, and Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, among others.


The footage also captured his serene boating experience in Thoothukudi and delightful moments savoring local snacks in Madurai. The video concludes with a heartwarming image of Rajamouli's family, encapsulating the essence of his memorable journey.

In a heartfelt message accompanying the video, SS Rajamouli shared his long-awaited desire to embark on a road trip through central Tamil Nadu. He expressed gratitude to his daughter, whose wish to visit temples led them on this remarkable journey. Rajamouli recounted their visits to Srirangam, Darasuram, Brihadeeswarar Koil, Rameshwaram, Kanadukathan, Thoothukudi, and Madurai during the final week of June.


He acknowledged that their limited time allowed them to only scratch the surface of the region's vast offerings. The celebrated filmmaker was captivated by the exquisite architecture, astounding engineering, and profound spiritual influence demonstrated by the Pandyas, Chozhas, Nayakkars, and other rulers. The experience left him truly mesmerized.

Elaborating on the significance of the trip, the director conveyed, "From indulging in fine dining at Mantrakoodam in Kumbakonam to relishing the delectable offerings at Kaka Hotel and Murugan Mess in Rameshwaram, the culinary experience has been nothing short of marvelous everywhere... I must admit, I may have gained 2-3 kilos in just one week. After three months of foreign travel and cuisine, this journey through my homeland has been truly revitalizing and uplifting." The video concludes with a poignant text message, stating, "Exploring the rich heritage and divine tranquility of central Tamil Nadu was a profoundly soul-stirring experience."
