Sharad Pawar supports Arvind Kejriwal amidst ED summoning, citing power misuse by the Centre. Expressing concern over potential arrests, Pawar notes a pattern targeting dissenting voices. BJP counters, affirming zero tolerance for corruption, criticizing Kejriwal and Hemant Soren for evading summons, intensifying political tensions amid legal scrutiny.

Amidst the ongoing turmoil involving Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Sharad Pawar, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief, has stepped in to express his views. Addressing party members in Shridi, Pawar openly extended his support to Kejriwal in the face of ED summoning, alleging misuse of power by the Centre to intimidate those with differing political perspectives.

Pawar's commentary highlighted the broader context of the situation by mentioning similar summonses issued to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. This led Pawar to express concerns about the possibility of Soren facing arrest. Pawar emphasized the concerns raised about the targeted actions against dissenting political figures, hinting at a pattern of political intimidation.

The crux of Pawar's support lay in his acknowledgment of Kejriwal's decade-long tenure, duly elected by the public. He highlighted the clean image that Kejriwal maintains in the political landscape of Delhi. Pawar drew attention to the unfortunate trend of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ministers facing incarceration, suggesting an ongoing effort to apprehend Kejriwal as well.

The controversy stems from the excise policy scam linked to the ED summons. This policy, previously under scrutiny and ultimately scrapped by Kejriwal's administration last year, resurfaced as the ED summoned him for questioning. The alleged irregularities tied to this policy have cast a shadow over Kejriwal's tenure as Chief Minister.

In stark contrast, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on Kejriwal and Soren for repeatedly evading ED summonses. BJP's national spokesperson, Gaurav Bhatia, conveyed a firm stance, emphasizing the government's commitment to prosecuting corrupt leaders under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rule.

This tense exchange highlights the deepening political tensions surrounding the ED summons. While Pawar stands in solidarity with Kejriwal, the BJP continues to emphasize a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, setting the stage for a potentially contentious battle of ideologies amidst legal inquiries and political upheaval.
