Upon hearing Soorpanakha's grievance, Raavan's eyes blazed with fury. His ten heads, a symbol of his power, turned in unison as he listened to the tale of insult and injury suffered by his sister. Soorpanakha narrated the encounter with the two young princes of Ayodhya, Rama, and Lakshmana, and how Lakshmana had ruthlessly severed her nose in response to her advances toward Rama.

Raavan, the formidable ruler of Lanka, was no stranger to conflict. His kingdom, inhabited by rakshasas, was known for its prosperity and trade. Raavan himself, born as Dashānana, the one with ten heads, was a complex character—a scholar, an able ruler, and a devotee of Lord Shiva. His devotion had led him to perform extreme penance, even decapitating himself multiple times, earning the favor of Lord Shiva and the restoration of his ten heads.

His mother, Kaikesi, was a demon princess, and his father, a rishi. These diverse origins contributed to Raavan's strength and prowess. However, his arrogance grew with each triumph and boon bestowed upon him, making him a formidable force in the world.

Soorpanakha's narration fueled Raavan's rage, and he vowed to avenge his sister's humiliation. His allegiance to Lord Shiva and his past penance had made him nearly invincible. Raavan, driven by a thirst for retribution, summoned his trusted commanders and devised a plan to abduct Sita, the wife of Rama, thus striking at the heart of Ayodhya.

The Kingdom of Lanka buzzed with preparation as Raavan marshaled his forces, determined to bring the mighty Ayodhya to its knees. The tale of Raavan and the Kingdom of Lanka had taken a dark turn, setting the stage for a conflict that would resonate through the ages—the clash between the virtuous Rama and the formidable, yet flawed, Raavan.
