Protests Erupt in Karnataka Against Actor Prakash Raj's Alleged "Anti-Hindu" Remarks

Karnataka's Kalaburgi witnessed protests by pro-Hindu groups ahead of actor Prakash Raj's scheduled visit on Sunday.

The demonstrators, clad in black, voiced their discontent against the actor, accusing him of making "anti-Hindu" statements. The protests escalated as black flags were raised, resulting in police detaining the demonstrators.

Earlier in the day, members of a Hindu organization submitted a memorandum to the Kalburgi District Magistrate, articulating their reasons for opposing Prakash Raj's visit. They also demanded a ban on the actor's entry into the city.

These demonstrations unfolded before Prakash Raj's intended visit to Kalaburgi, where he was scheduled to participate in a dialogue event and witness a play titled 'Gayagalu,' based on the human tragedy of war.

However, this is not the first time Prakash Raj has faced opposition from right-wing groups. A few weeks prior, activists from such groups had sprinkled cow urine and "purified" the areas visited by the actor in Karnataka's Shivmogga district as a form of protest.

Prakash Raj, known for his multilingual roles, has consistently been under scrutiny by right-wing organizations due to his outspoken criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and late BJP leader Anant Kumar Hegde.

In another controversy, the actor sparked a debate when he shared a cartoon on social media, seemingly mocking the Chandrayaan-3 landing. He later clarified that it was a reference to a Malayalam joke. For more updates keep visiting our website www.topstoriesworld.com where we provide unbiased, true and top stories of the world.
