PM's official two day visit to France commenced on Thursday when he reached Paris. After meeting with his French counterpart Ms. Elisabeth Borne, PM left to address the Indian community at the iconic La Seine Musicale, Paris.

 

PM was welcomed with a charged Indian crowd at the venue whom he called the ambassadors of India in France. He witnessed a warm welcome from the Indian community with beautifully oraganized cultural events. The Rajputana Rifles Band of the Indian Army also delivered a performance at the venue in Paris.

 

Here are some important points that the PM mentioned during his interaction with Indian diaspora:

 

1. People-to-people connect is strongest foundation of India-France partnership:

As both the nations are tackling with the 21st century challanges, it has increased the importance of bilateral strategic partnership. He also mentioned his old association with France as the first member of the cultural centre of France in Ahemdabad which was strated 40 years ago. He thanked for the invitation to Bastille Day and congratulatef the French for the same. He also mentioned that his attendance there with Emmanuel Macron would be a reflection of unbreakable friendship between the two countries.

 

2. Capability and role of India is changing fast:

With world moving today towards new world order the capability and role of India is changing fast. With the mention of G20 summit, India in its Presidency is holding more than 200 meetings accross the nation. Addressing the crowd he also remarked that wherever Indians ho they create a mini India.

 

3. Agreement reached for using India's UPI in France:

An aggreement has been made for the use of India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in France. Soon Indian tourists would be able to hold transactions using UPI. This will be started from Eiffel Tower. This will open a huge new market for Indian innovation.

4. More than America's population have been brought out of the poverty line:

A recently published UN report stated that within just 10-15 years, India has brought about 42 crore citizens out of the poverty line which is more than the population of Europe, it and America.

 

5. Statue of Saint Thiruvalluvar:

Prime minister mentioned that in a few weeks or months from now a statue of great Tamil philosopher Thiruvalluvar will be built in the Cergy Prefecture.

 

6. India to open  new consulate in Marseille in France:

Indian government has decided to open a new Indian consulate in Marseille, France.

 

7. Indian students pursuing master's degree in France will be given post-study visa of 5 years:

The earlier 2 year post-study work visa for students pursuing master's in France would be extended to now a 5 year post-study work visa.

With a priority to every Indian loving abroad same as the country's residing citizens, PM happily mentioned the issue regarding OCI cards has been resolved and the cards are now being issued in Reunion Island.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday emphasized France national football team captain, Kylian Mbappe's rising popularity among Indian fans. He mentioned hes probably more famous in india than France.

PM Modi expresses resolve to create bright future for India, its upcoming generation. He mentioned that the nation is resolving problems lasting since decades with a permanent solution. He challanged the crowd to travel India cashless and all they need is a UPI app as 46 percent of world's real time digital transactions takes place in india.
