PM Modi intensified his attack on Congress, accusing them of appeasing America, allowing "Urban Naxals" influence, and proposing an "inheritance tax" that would prevent Indians from passing property to children.
Leading the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accosted the opposition Congress party, blaming them for trying to please America and taking a soft stance towards "Urban Naxals" who have crept into the party.
Amidst a rally in Chhattisgarh's Surguja on Wednesday, Modi responded sharply to recent comments by Sam Pitroda, a top official of Indian Overseas Congress, who proposed to introduce an “inheritance tax” like law. The Prime Minister stated that the Congress party is against the Indians passing on the property to the next generation.
"The Congress party is going to introduce an Inheritance Tax, as well as an inheritance tax upon receiving property from your parents. All that you have worked hard for will not be transferred to your children," Modi said.
He went on to say that Congress party's philosophy is "Loot zindagi ke saath bhi zindagi ke baad bhi", meaning loot during the life and after the life as well, and actually accusing them of wanting to tax the middle class both during their lifetimes and after death.
Modi's utterances were a part of his continuing attack on Congress's manifesto that, he said, aimed to contrive reservation on the basis of religion, which became a contradiction to the principles entrenched in the Constitution by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

Not only did the PM take a jibe at the Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, but he claimed that she had shed tears over the killing of terrorists during the 2008 Batla House encounter, something that was verified by Salman Khurshid. "Congress is financing those who are spreading the violence and commending them as bravehearts," remarked Modi.
The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections will
start on 26th April with voting in 89 constituencies, spread over 13 states.
The PM's latest duel with the Congress has picked up as the doors to this
crucial phase of polls are about to open.
