In a thrilling cricket match at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, Australia's skipper Pat Cummins found himself at a loss for words as he witnessed Glenn Maxwell's extraordinary unbeaten 201-run innings against Afghanistan. Australia managed to secure victory, chasing down a target of 292 runs, despite being at a precarious 91/7 at one point. It was Maxwell's remarkable performance that single-handedly propelled his team to success, dismantling Afghanistan's bowling attack.

Pat Cummins played a supporting role, scoring 12 runs off 68 balls as part of an unbroken 202-run eighth-wicket stand. Cummins, on the other hand, had a front-row ticket to the show presented by Maxwell. "I mean, just ridiculous," he said in amazement. I'm not sure how you characterize it. Excellent victory, but Maxy was out of this world. It has to be the best ODI innings in history."

Maxwell fought cramping and a nagging back as he slammed 21 boundaries and 10 huge sixes. At one time, it appeared like he would have to retire injured, with the next batter, Adam Zampa, poised to take his place. But Maxwell persisted, keen to leave his mark on history.

"You let Maxy actually do his thing," Cummins said of Maxwell's outstanding performance. I mean, how am I supposed to say anything to someone who is acting like that?" He also applauded Maxwell's calm and smart approach to the game, even while down by a large margin. Cummins admired Maxwell's ability to chart a course to win even when they were 200 runs behind.

Cummins was pleased with his team's conviction in their capacity to overcome adversity after Australia's victory earned their place in the semifinals. He went on to say, "Even from the position we were in, we believed we could win, and that's a testament to the character of this team." Glenn Maxwell's remarkable innings astounded both his skipper and cricket fans worldwide
