On
the final day of Parliament's
Budget Session, scheduled for February 10, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha
will witness the presentation of a Motion of Thanks concerning the Ram temple.
The Motion, under Rule 193 in Lok Sabha and Rule 176 in Rajya Sabha, will be
moved by BJP MPs Satya Pal Singh, Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Santosh Pande, K
Laxman, Sudhanshu Trivedi, and Rakesh Sinha. This motion, a significant
highlight of the session, aims to underscore Lord Ram's role as a symbol of
Indian culture and unity, echoing PM Modi's recent remarks during the Pran
Pratishtha ceremony at Ayodhya. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's prior
'Ram Ram' greetings set a symbolic tone for the session's proceedings.
As the Budget Session draws to a close, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a three-line whip to ensure the presence of all its MPs in both houses of Parliament on February 10. This directive comes amidst the anticipation of crucial legislative discussions, with Prime Minister Modi expected to address the Lok Sabha, marking an essential conclusion to the session preceding the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Additionally, the Budget Session, initially slated to end on February 9, has been extended by a day, reflecting the significance of pending legislative matters. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's presentation of the Interim Budget highlighted the government's achievements in steering the economy towards sustained growth since assuming office in 2014.

The
Ram temple motion underscores the cultural and historical significance of Lord
Ram, portraying him as a unifying symbol for the nation. This thematic gesture
aligns with the BJP's ideological stance and resonates with its voter base. PM
Modi's invocation of 'Ram Ram' further amplifies the symbolic importance of the
motion, tying it to the broader political narrative of cultural heritage and
national identity. The extension of the Budget Session indicates the
government's commitment to addressing legislative priorities, even as electoral
preparations loom large on the horizon. With the Interim Budget setting the
stage for economic policies ahead of the general elections, the concluding
session serves as a platform for political messaging and agenda-setting. As MPs
convene for the final deliberations, the Ram temple motion stands out as a
poignant tribute to India's cultural heritage, reflecting the confluence of
religion, politics, and governance in the country's democratic landscape.
