One of India's most loved Street food, Pani Puri makes people queue up near the stalls from pavements to wedding halls to savor its bomb flavor. But often hygiene involved in making and serving becomes the unnoticed concern while having such street foods.

Idea of automatic Pani Puri vending machine:

Two engineers in Ahmedabad, Aakash Gajjar and Devendra Avhad, both fell ill after eating pani puri,in the year 2017. They converted this setback into an opportunity and came up with the idea of Pani Puri vending machine.

Penguin Innovative Engineering has developed machines that operate similarly to soda vending machines, revolutionizing the preparation and serving of pani puris through a zero-contact process.

Working of Pani Puri ATM:

The flavored water is stored in a tank, and an automated nozzle activated by sensors dispenses the desired amount into the puris. As everyone has their own taste preferences, some prefer spicy, while others opt for a sweeter and tangier flavor.

To accommodate these preferences, the machines allow customization of the water quantity, and they include a manual button for start and stop functions. Different versions of these machines are available, ranging from one to sixteen nozzles, and they come with a container for storing the puris.

One variant of these machines is the coin-operated pani puri machine, equipped with six nozzles and a potato dispenser, which dispenses puris individually. Additionally, the machine produces ready-to-use pani flavor powders that can be mixed with mineral water.

Some of these machine variants are designed as carts, which can be either pushed or attached to the back of a motorbike, and they operate using batteries. Apart from these, there are nearly 50 other machines that perform various functions, including mixing and kneading the dough, flattening it into sheets, cutting them into puris, frying, and storing them.

While certain traditionalists may still favor the conventional method of making pani puris, numerous street vendors and start-ups have enthusiastically adopted these machines.

In fact, some vendors utilizing these machines can produce an impressive two lakh puris in a single day. The demand for these innovative devices is evident as approximately 150 filling machines are sold each month, and they are even exported to countries like Canada, Amsterdam, and the United Kingdom.

The company's dedication to enhancing street food experiences goes beyond pani puris. They have ventured into developing other machines, such as the coin-operated automatic bhelpuri machine that expertly blends all the ingredients before dispensing them. Moreover, they have successfully designed robotic serving arms, automatic tea machines, and sugarcane juice machines, all with the primary aim of promoting cleanliness and efficiency in street food preparation.
