Mizoram Police and Customs Division Seize 4.691 kg of Methamphetamine in Joint Operation

Two individuals were apprehended, and a substantial amount of
Methamphetamine, a prohibited drug, was seized in a collaborative operation
conducted by Mizoram police and the Customs Division in Aizawl.
The joint operation took place on Wednesday and resulted in
the confiscation of 4.691 kg of Methamphetamine, with an estimated value in
crores of rupees.
The Mizoram Police, precisely the Bawngkawn police station,
partnered with the Customs Division in Aizawl for the successful operation.
Late Tuesday night, the contraband was discovered in the possession of
Lallianthanga (33 years old) and David Lala (28 years old), both from Myanmar.
The individuals were located inside a hotel in Thuampui,
Aizawl.
Following the seizure, the case was handed over to the Customs
Division in Aizawl for further legal action. The authorities are currently
awaiting additional details related to the investigation.
This operation serves as a testament to the commitment of law enforcement agencies in Mizoram to combat the illegal drug trade and safeguard the welfare of the local community. The substantial amount of Methamphetamine confiscated is expected to significantly disrupt the illicit drug market in the region.
