A yellow weather warning for wind caused over 70 aircraft that were scheduled to take off or land at UK airports before Saturday noon to be grounded.

From eight in the morning until ten at night, a portion of Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland as well as the northwest and south-west of England are under the warning.

The Met Office has issued a second yellow warning for wind in the northwest of Scotland for Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The warning states that winds of up to 70 mph are expected.

Thousands of people in Ireland remain without electricity in the interim.

An orange wind warning was in effect for the counties of Cork, Kerry, and Waterford from seven in the morning until two in the afternoon. There is also an orange wind warning in effect for the counties of Mayo and Galway, which is valid until six o'clock tonight. A yellow wind advisory is in effect for the entire nation until eight o'clock.

On Saturday morning, reports of power outages were made; the western and southern regions of the country were the most affected.

Strong southerly winds are predicted, and Met Éireann meteorologists in Ireland have issued a yellow notice indicating that they could result in hazardous travel conditions, toppled trees, power outages, and coastal flooding in certain places.

The Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, and Derry counties in Northern Ireland. The time frame for this warning is 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM or later.

The meteorological service reports that stormy weather is expected in several parts of the province. The shores of Down and Antrim should prepare for strong to gale-force southerly winds, with the potential for severe gales over an extended period of time.

In some exposed and coastal areas, gusts as up to 150 miles per hour are possible.

East Anglia may expect temperatures as high as 22 degrees Celsius on Saturday due to warm air coming in from the continent.

Met Office meteorologist Ellie Glaisyer says that the storm is to blame for the increased temperatures. The storm is positioned in the west of the United Kingdom, and a southerly wind is moving throughout the country.
