Kolkata-Bound Bus fell from Bridge In Odisha: 5 died, several Injured

The Jajpur district police in Odisha said that a bus transporting passengers on its way to Kolkata toppled from a bridge on Monday night, killing five people—including a woman—and wounding dozens more.

At about nine o'clock in the evening, the unfortunate occurrence occurred on the Barabati bridge on National Highway-16. The bus carried forty passengers as it traveled from Puri to Kolkata.

Medical staff, the Jajpur Superintendent of Police, and other district government representatives are on hand at the accident scene to oversee the rescue efforts.

Gas cutters were used by firefighters to free injured individuals. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik declared that as a token of his condolences, families who have lost a loved one will receive ₹3 lakh each.
