The recent Israel-Hamas conflict escalated tragically as shelling targeted a humanitarian aid distribution site in Gaza, resulting in significant casualties. At least 20 people were killed, and 155 others injured while awaiting essential food aid, according to reports. Eyewitnesses described a scene of devastation, with numerous bodies strewn across the area.

Dr. Mohammad Ghrab from Al Shifa Hospital's emergency unit warned that the death toll might rise as more casualties arrive at the hospital. Eyewitnesses reported hearing artillery fire or tank blasts before the area was engulfed in chaos. Palestinian officials swiftly blamed Israeli forces for the attack, alleging the targeting of civilians awaiting crucial aid.

The Gaza Civil Defense Spokesman accused Israel of continuing its policy of targeting innocent civilians during humanitarian crises. Meanwhile, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced a landmark decision to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza by sea, aiming to alleviate the dire situation.

In a separate development, amid the ongoing conflict, IDF reported the targeted killing of Muhammad Abu Hasna, a commander in Hamas' Operations Unit, in Rafah. This development adds another layer of complexity to the already tense situation between Israel and Hamas.

The IDF vowed to continue its operations against Hamas, targeting individuals involved in terrorist activities against Israel. As the conflict persists, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains precarious, with urgent calls for international intervention to prevent further escalation and alleviate the suffering of civilians caught in the crossfire.
