Cricket West Indies (CWI) recently elevated the promising fast bowler, Shamar Joseph, by awarding him a prestigious international retainer contract, a testament to his exceptional talent and unwavering dedication to the sport.

This significant announcement follows West Indies' historic victory in the 2nd Test against Australia at The Gabba, marking their first triumph on Australian soil since 1997. Shamar Joseph played a pivotal role in this achievement, showcasing his prowess by dismantling the Aussie batting order with remarkable figures of 7/68 in the second innings.

Hailing from a remote village in Guyana, Shamar Joseph's journey to cricket stardom is a story of determination and skill. Miles Bascombe, Director of CWI, further emphasized the board's commitment to developing extraordinary talent in West Indies cricket. Along with Shamar Joseph's promotion, the board has granted a franchise deal to another young fast bowler, Chemar Holder, demonstrating their commitment to acquiring the greatest talent in fast bowling.

"Shamar's promotion to a CWI International retainer contract reflects his potential and the bright future of West Indies cricket." We've also given Chemar Holder a franchise contract as we focus on acquiring the greatest fast-bowling talent available. "We are thrilled to see both men continue to excel," Bascombe said in a statement.
