In a significant move ahead of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, the Rajasthan government has ordered the temporary closure of all slaughterhouses, meat, and fish shops throughout the state on January 22. This decision, implemented by Director and Joint Secretary Suresh Kumar Ola, aims to mark the auspicious occasion and honor the consecration of the temple.

Simultaneously, the Indian government has scheduled a half-day shutdown for Central Government Offices, Central Institutions, and Central Industrial Establishments across the country on January 22, beginning at 2:30 p.m. This allows employees to participate in the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha, which represents Lord Ram's idol installation in the freshly erected Ayodhya temple.

On January 19, the Ministry of Personnel and Training issued an official memorandum informing all ministries and departments of the government of the half-day shutdown. The mandate applies identically to government offices in New Delhi and across the country, underscoring the significance of the approaching event.

"Ayodhya's Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha will be celebrated across India on January 22, 2024. To allow employees to participate in the celebrations, it has been decided that all Central Government Offices, Central Institutions, and Central Industrial Establishments in India will be closed for half a day until 1430 hours on January 22, 2024," according to a central government order signed by Parveen Jargar, Deputy Secretary to the Government of India.

According to Govind Dev Giri, a member of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust, the 'Netronmelan' (unveiling of Ram Lalla's statue) during the Pran Pratishtha would include the application of honey on a gold bar. The ceremony is slated for January 22, stressing the significance of the event.

"The basic method of 'netronmelan' is that by applying honey to a gold bar, the eyes become anointed, which looks like 'kajal' to the people," said Acharya Giri, highlighting the ritual's spiritual importance. The decision for the Pran Pratishta, which follows Vedic ideals, represents the conclusion of rigorous planning and veneration for the cherished god.
