In Madhya Pradesh's Anuppur district, the BJP's local chief, Ramdas Puri, has upheld a unique vow since 2017. He committed to staying barefoot until the BJP achieved governance in the state. Following the recent triumph in assembly polls, where the BJP secured a significant 163 out of 230 seats, Puri finally embraced wearing shoes again.

Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan commended Puri's unwavering dedication and recounted Puri's steadfastness in forgoing footwear, despite the BJP's return to power in 2020. Even after the party regained control, Puri maintained his pledge until the recent landslide victory.

Chouhan highlighted Puri's commitment, emphasizing how he remained barefoot through various weather conditions for six long years. The occasion of the BJP's resounding success marked the fulfillment of Puri's resolution. Chouhan, along with others, urged Puri to end his vow and resume wearing shoes, considering the party's accomplishment in Madhya Pradesh's political landscape.

The victory, where the BJP overshadowed the opposition Congress by securing 163 out of 230 assembly seats, established the party's dominant hold in the central state. This resounding win marked the fulfillment of Puri's prolonged pledge, signaling a celebratory conclusion to his unique display of dedication to the party's cause.
