Around 95 children aged 4-12 were rescued in Ayodhya while being trafficked illegally from Bihar to Uttar Pradesh without parental consent. Authorities are contacting parents to reunite the minors as concerns over child trafficking persist.
More than 95 kids around 4-12 years old were rescued by the authorities in Ayodhya on the Friday while they were illegally trafficked from Bihar to Uttar Pradesh.
The children were apprehended when the Uttar Pradesh Child Commission was informed by a source that some kids were being trafficked from Bihar to Saharanpur without the required consent or paperwork. CWC member Suchitra Chaturvedi passed an alert to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in Ayodhya about the traffickers would be passing through the city.
Taking the required action, CWC chairperson Sarvesh Awasthi told that his team rescued the 95 minors in Ayodhya around 9.00 am on Friday. "Those women who carried children did not have consent from parents," Awasthi informed. "All of the children said that they did not know where they were being led."
The rescued children were treated with food and medical aid. Authorities are currently trying to trace the parents and reconnect the minors with their families.
The Chairperson of the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights, Priyank Kanoongo, raised the matter on the social media, making a strong point about child trafficking and the illegal transportation of minors.

This incident is just a part of a chain of events which have taken place recently in Gorakhpur, where the UP Child Commission saved children from Bihar, who were being sent to madrasas across the states.
The child rights advocates have issued a call for action over the child trafficking which is often from the economically disadvantaged regions for labor exploitation, forced begging or other illegal acts. The authorities assert that they are taking this matter seriously and are prepared to take strict actions against the offenders of such crimes against children.
