5 New Supreme Court Judges:- The Supreme Court of India welcomed five new judges on Monday, February 6th, 2023. The Centre cleared the proposal made by the Collegium, leading to the appointment of these five judges. Meet the New Supreme Court Judges - Get to Know Them

Justice Pankaj Mithal, who was the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, was one of the five judges to take the oath. He has previously served as the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, and was a judge of the Allahabad High Court before that. He was enrolled in the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh in 1985 and started practising in the high court as an advocate. Justice Sanjay Karol, who was the Chief Justice of Patna High Court, was another judge to take the oath. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura and as the acting Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court. He was enrolled as an advocate in 1986 and has practised in both the high court and the Supreme Court. Justice PV Sanjay Kumar, the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court, was also among the five new judges. He previously served as a judge at the Punjab, Haryana High Court, and Andhra Pradesh High Court. He was enrolled as a member of the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh in 1988. Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah, a judge of the Patna High Court, took the oath of office as well. He was elevated to judge of the Patna High Court in 2011 and was transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court in 2021, before being re-transferred to the Patna High Court in June 2022. He was enrolled with the Bihar State Bar Council in 1991. Lastly, Justice Manoj Misra, a judge of the Allahabad High Court, was among the five new judges sworn in. He took the oath of office as a judge in 2011. He was enrolled as an advocate in December 1988 and has practised in the civil, revenue, criminal and constitutional sides of the Allahabad High Court.
