Aditya Srivastava, who had previously come in at position 236, disclosed the factors that enabled him to take the top spot in the UPSC IAS exam in 2023. His resolve to enlist in the Indian Police Service (IPS) was cemented when he passed the Union Public Service Commission's (UPSC) civil service examination in 2022.

"The main focus was on pinpointing past errors or the mistakes I believed I had made," Aditya Srivastava stated in a special interview for India Today TV. Similar to General Studies 1 and 4, I attempted to identify the reasons behind my significant academic deficit and subsequently addressed them. This, in my opinion, was the one most important factor that helped me move up from 236th to first place.

"The main thing I did a bit differently was in-depth analysis of past year's papers, be it of prelims, or be it identifying the various patterns that USPC is following, be it in sentence formation or the kind of questions they are framing and also the kind of answers that toppers are giving to them," according to Aditya Srivastava.

In addition, he gave guidance to students getting ready for the UPSC civil service exam, emphasizing that self-motivation and consistency are the two most important factors in success.

Aditya Srivastava also went into detail about his initial feelings when he learned that he had received the highest score in the UPSC IAS exam. He expressed his concern after the results were revealed. My goal was to place in the top 70 finishers. Beyond all of that, I was overjoyed to see the outcome," he remarked.

In his inauguration speech, the front-runner for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) pledged to "implement all the schemes that the government is making for the people to the best of my ability."

"After that, if I get a chance at a public policymaking level, then I would like to work for children, specifically in health and education," he said at the conclusion.
