Vidya Balan stands out among the few female leading actors who have gained recognition primarily for their exceptional talent rather than relying on glamor alone. With a remarkable repertoire of critically acclaimed performances in films such as "The Dirty Picture," "Kahaani," and "Tumhari Sulu," Vidya has successfully carved a niche for herself in the competitive realm of Hindi cinema. However, it's worth noting that even at the beginning of her career, Vidya had an intriguing encounter with the world of glamor

After a hiatus of four years, Vidya Balan is all set to captivate audiences once again in the upcoming murder mystery "Neeyat" directed by Anu Menon. Portraying the role of a detective in this intriguing whodunit, Vidya brings her versatile talent to the forefront. Vidya Balan acknowledges the immense talent required to excel in commercial and glamorous roles. Reflecting on her own experience, she admits that initially, she failed to grasp the importance of approaching even a limited number of songs and scenes with utmost conviction. Mistakenly believing that she could simply coast through performances that demanded only a few songs and scenes, Vidya soon realized that this approach had dire consequences. As she candidly shared in an interview with her "Neeyat" co-star Prajakta Koli on the YouTube channel MostlySane, she faced severe criticism despite the success of some of those films.

The years 2007-08 marked a significant period in Vidya's career, during which she faced scrutiny for her casting choices. Following her remarkable debut in Pradeep Sarkar's romantic film "Parineeta" (2005), she encountered criticism for being miscast in Sajid Khan's comedy "Heyy Babyy" (2007) and Ken Ghosh's romantic comedy "Kismet Connection" (2008). Although "Heyy Babyy" enjoyed success at the box office, "Kismet Connection" unfortunately failed to make a mark. These experiences serve as notable moments in Vidya's journey, demonstrating the complexities and challenges inherent in the world of cinema.

The film is proudly produced by Vikram Malhotra's renowned production house, Abundantia Entertainment, promising an enthralling cinematic experience.
