Veer Shah was actively engaged in Garba dancing during the Navratri festivities in Kapadvanj, Kheda district, Gujarat. During the dance, he suddenly experienced dizziness and lost consciousness. Prompt first aid was administered, and he was swiftly transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, medical professionals declared him deceased upon arrival.

Medical experts stated that the teenager suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while immersed in the joyous celebration of Garba.

Dr. Aayush Patel, an MD in Medicine, provided insights into Veer's case, explaining, "A group of volunteers at the scene promptly attended to him and conducted cardio-respiratory resuscitation. Despite monitoring his vital signs, we could not detect a pulse. There was no response, and signs of respiration were absent. Three cycles of Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) were performed. We transported him to the hospital via ambulance, but, regrettably, he was pronounced dead at the medical facility."

Veer's unfortunate passing was one of at least ten similar incidents that occurred during Garba performances within a 24-hour span amid Navratri celebrations in Gujarat, as reported by India Today.

Veer's demise occurred on the sixth day of Navratri festivities. Tragically, several other incidents involving victims as young as a 13-year-old boy from Dabhoi, Baroda, were reported in the state. Notable casualties included a 28-year-old named Ravi Panchal from Ahmedabad, who suddenly collapsed while dancing Garba and passed away on Friday night. Additionally, a 55-year-old named Shankar Rana also collapsed while participating in the festivities in Vadodara.

According to the India Today report, the 108 emergency ambulance services in Gujarat received a total of 521 calls related to heart-related issues and an additional 609 calls concerning breathlessness during the first six days of Navratri. Most of these calls were received between 6 PM and 2 AM, which coincides with the usual hours of Garba celebrations.

The surge in heart-related issues has prompted both the government and event organizers to take action. The government, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, has called for heightened vigilance in all government hospitals and community health centers (CHCs) located near Garba venues.
