Ofwat and Britain’s Environment Agency are the two institutions which will be responsible for tracing Companies which illegally release sewage discharges into waterways.
Establishing wastewater treatment plants and improving the sewage network of Britain are also on the to- do list for Thames Water.
In 2021, the British government had imposed a limit upon the amount of sewage that Companies could discharge. In lieu of the same regulations, the Environment Secretary has announced that all Companies must disclose their plans for improving wastewater management. Higher penalties have been planned to be imposed upon Companies which breach the set parameters.
