Despite these daunting statistics, there is still a mathematical possibility that Sri Lanka can secure a berth in the semi-finals. The odds may be stacked against them, but hope endures for the Sri Lankan team. India, on the other hand, has surged ahead, becoming the first squad to cement their place in the semi-finals.
