Sourav Ganguly has given advice to Jay Shah and Roger Binny

In an interview with Times of India, former captain of the Indian team and former president of the BCCI Sourav Ganguly was asked if young players need better guidance these days.

Responding to the question, Sourav Ganguly said, "Talking about Ishan Kishan, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and current president Roger Binny and selectors should talk to him directly. They have been playing Ranji Trophy and one-day cricket for a long time. Has he become a useless cricketer? That's not the case."

BCCI should take appropriate action - Sourav Ganguly

In the meantime, Sourav Ganguly was also asked about his thoughts on Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan not receiving central contracts from the BCCI. He said, "In my opinion, this is probably the first time a player has not played or refused to play red-ball domestic cricket. They all played matches in the Ranji Trophy when they were completely free. I hope the BCCI will take appropriate action on this issue."

A few days ago, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah issued strict instructions to all players that if selectors, coaches, and captains believe you should play domestic cricket, then you must play, and there will be no tantrums on this matter. It will be interesting to see how Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan decide on their future, considering Jay Shah's strict approach.
