In a significant development for the Indian cricket team at the Cricket World Cup 2023, Hardik Pandya's absence has created a void that the team is working to address. Rohit Sharma's India, the sole undefeated team, faces challenges with team balance, primarily due to the absence of the star all-rounder.

During the matches against New Zealand and England, the Men in Blue opted for Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Shami as replacements for Hardik Pandya. However, as they prepare for the upcoming clash against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian team, provided an important update on Pandya's injury.

Sharma disclosed that Pandya won't be available for the next match but expressed optimism about his eventual return. He described the developments surrounding Pandya as "very positive." Although not referring to it as a rehabilitation process, Sharma acknowledged that the steps taken by Pandya and the National Cricket Academy have yielded positive results.

He emphasized the need for daily monitoring due to the nature of the injury and the demanding schedule of the World Cup. Sharma added, "Ho Sakta Hai, Jaisa unka chal raha hai, jald se jald dekhneka mauka milega (Maybe, considering the good progress he is making, we might see him soon)."

Hardik Pandya sustained an ankle injury during India's match against Bangladesh on October 19, causing him to miss the subsequent two matches against New Zealand and England. Currently, he is undergoing the recovery process at the National Cricket Academy. According to a report from the news agency PTI, Pandya is unlikely to make a comeback before India's last group game on November 12 against the Netherlands.

In addition to the cricket-related updates, Rohit Sharma expressed concern about the poor air quality in cities like Mumbai and Delhi. He emphasized the importance of taking necessary steps to address this issue for the well-being of future generations. Sharma's remarks underscore the broader responsibility of safeguarding the environment for the benefit of our children and the generations to come.
