Union Minister Nitin Gadkari briefly fainted at an election rally in Maharashtra's Yavatmal on Wednesday due to heat but swiftly confirmed he was "completely healthy" afterward on social media.
Member of Union Parliament Nitin Gadkari fell unconscious during the election meeting in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, India on Wednesday. The video clip captured the BJP leader in an incoherent state on stage where party workers were first seen getting to their aids.
This situation happened when the BJP leader was on his election trail in support of the BJP-Shiv Sena candidate from Pusad constituency.
But the 66-year-old Union Transport and Highways Minister, which is now X (formerly Twitter), soon came up with a post to calm down every concerned person. Gadkari linked this happenstance with the "overheating of the body's system" and assured he is "completely fine now."
"I had recovered 100% now and was travelling to Varud to attend the next meeting. I express my gratitude for all your love and good wishes," Gadkari's X post read.
Before the collapse, Gadkari had pledged that Yavatmal’s "perpetual trend towards growth and development" would ultimately lead to the BJP alliance in the district winning the election. He was all praise for the development work that PM Narendra Modi's government has brought across sectors like roads, education and health during the past decade.

This is again the instance wherein the exhausting schedule of politicians during India's multi-phase general elections is addressed. Yavatmal electoral constituency is scheduled to go to polls on April 26 which is the second phase of voting.
However, Gadkari, in spite of having a dramatic fall, is likely to recover fast and this is, to be well noted, going to be a comfort to the BJP's poll campaigners on the crucial Maharashtra battleground.
