In a tragic incident in Mumbai, two workers lost their lives due to gas inhalation inside a storage chamber aboard a fishing boat. The mishap occurred at the New Fish Jetty during the unloading of fish from the vessel named Anjani Putra. According to police sources, the boat had returned to the coast early in the morning, and it is suspected that the gas buildup resulted from decaying fish inside the chamber.

The deputy commissioner of police, Sanjay Latkar, mentioned that the situation escalated when a worker descended into the storage chamber and lost consciousness. Subsequently, five more workers entering the chamber also passed out. Immediate medical attention was sought, and all affected individuals were swiftly transported to the JJ Hospital, a government-run facility.
