Martyrs' Day 2024 witnesses political leaders, irrespective of party differences, coming together to honor Mahatma Gandhi

Political leaders across party lines paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on Martyrs' Day, marking the 76th anniversary of his assassination. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, remembered Gandhi's ideals. Political leaders from various parties joined hands on Martyrs' Day 2024 to pay heartfelt tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, marking the 76th anniversary of his assassination. This solemn day holds deep significance, observed nationally to honor the sacrifices made by those who fought for India's independence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing his homage on social media, stated, "I pay homage to Pujya Bapu on his Punya Tithi. I also pay homage to all those who have been martyred for our nation. Their sacrifices inspire us to serve the people and fulfill their vision for our nation."

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, and Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge were among the prominent leaders who took to various platforms to remember Mahatma Gandhi.

Defence Minister Singh reflected on the occasion, offering his tribute to the Father of the Nation. Rahul Gandhi, at a prayer meeting in Bihar, spoke about the ongoing battle against ideologies that oppose Gandhi's principles, emphasizing the need to protect India's unity in diversity.

Political figures, including BJP leader Amit Shah, echoed sentiments of admiration for Mahatma Gandhi's teachings. Shah remarked, "Salute to Mahatma Gandhi ji on his death anniversary who awakened the spirit of Swadeshi in the hearts of the countrymen by following the path of truth and non-violence."

January 30, observed as Martyrs' Day or 'Shaheed Diwas,' memorializes Mahatma Gandhi's assassination in 1948. Leaders collectively pledged to uphold Bapu's enduring principles of truth, non-violence, and unity, emphasizing their relevance in today's context.
