Krishnagiri Firecracker Factory Blast Kills Eight, Leaves Many Injured

At least eight persons lost their lives after a blast took place at a firecracker factory godown in Krishnagiri of Tamil Nadu on Saturday. 


The devastating incident took place on Saturday morning, where eight lives were lost, and many people suffered injuries due to an explosion at a firecracker factory's godown in Krishnagiri district, Tamil Nadu. 


As per Krishnagiri Superintendent of Police Saroj Kumar Thakore, the explosion occurred inside a firecracker factory situated in the Pazhaya Pettai area. The factory is reported to be owned by an individual named Ravi.

Soon after the explosion, the blaze quickly spread to nearby shops and houses, further aggravating the situation. The police as well as the fire personnel responded quickly to the emergency and rushed to the scene to perform the rescue operations. 


SP Thakore informed, “As many as seven people have been declared dead and the few others injured have been taken to a nearby Government hospital for treatment". He later revealed the death of one more person that occurred during the unfortunate incident.


Following the incident, the injured and rescued individuals were provided immediate medical attention at Krishnagiri Government Medical College Hospital for necessary treatment. Additional details regarding the incident are still awaited as authorities continue their investigation.

A similar tragic incident occurred on Tuesday at a firecracker manufacturing factory in Sivakasi City, Virudhunagar district, where an explosion led to the tragic loss of two lives.
