Khanna Flyover in Ludhiana Engulfed in Flames as Fuel Tanker Overturns, Causes Major Fire

A massive fire erupted on Ludhiana's Khanna flyover when a fuel tanker overturned, causing chaos. Emergency teams, including fire tenders and authorities, swiftly responded. Fortunately, no casualties occurred, but the incident disrupted traffic flow. The situation is under control.

In Ludhiana near Khanna, Punjab, a major incident unfolded as a fuel tanker overturned on a flyover, leading to a significant fire. Despite the flames spreading across the flyover, traffic continued to operate normally below. Swift action was taken by firefighting teams, comprising 4-5 fire tenders, and the civil and police administration following the emergency report around 12:30 pm. Luckily, there were no casualties or injuries reported, and the situation is presently under control.

SSP Khanna Amneet Kondal shared details, mentioning the receipt of information at 12:30 pm about an oil tanker catching fire after hitting the flyover divider. Immediate action was taken by 4-5 fire tenders and the civil and police administration, controlling the situation and diverting traffic. The fire stemmed from the tanker colliding with the flyover divider after overturning.

Despite the close call near the oil tanker, no casualties or serious injuries were reported. Emergency response teams swiftly reached the scene, focusing on extinguishing the massive fire. The incident caused chaos on Ludhiana's Khanna flyover, resulting in a traffic standstill. Khanna Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Sharma detailed that the tanker, heading to Mandi Gobindgarh from Jalandhar, faced a burst tire near the Khanna bus stand flyover, leading to the driver's loss of control, collision with the divider, and subsequent ignition.

Visuals from the scene portrayed thick, black smoke ascending into the sky, impacting traffic flow underneath the flyover. The authorities' prompt action averted casualties, ensuring the situation remained under control despite the disruption caused by this unfortunate event.
