Jaishankar Reflects on India's Struggle with Unjust Global Competition

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar highlighted India's struggle against unfair global competition, urging the nation to challenge unjust practices. He emphasized India's evolution from a service hub to a global leader in vaccines, technology, and innovation, asserting the need to confront unfairness in global dealings.

India's External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, passionately addressed the issue of unfair competition faced by India in the global landscape. He criticized the West and Europe for creating an ecosystem of deliberate disparity that hindered India's growth during the era of globalization. Speaking in New Delhi, Jaishankar underscored the need for India to combat this unfairness both domestically and internationally.

"The challenge lies in safeguarding ourselves from unfair competition," Jaishankar stated emphatically. He stressed the necessity of acquiring accurate data, fostering comprehensive understanding, and integrating these insights into policies. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of fortifying defenses against unjust practices and initiating actions to counter them effectively.

Jaishankar showcased India's remarkable progress, indicating that measurable indices favor the nation. He emphasized India's growth in the past 25 years, not just domestically but also as a significant global player. From being recognized as the "back office of the world" to becoming a leader in pharmaceuticals, technology, research, and digital innovations, India has emerged as a pivotal force globally.

In a motivational conclusion, Jaishankar highlighted India's transformation from being termed the "back office of the world" to becoming a beacon of innovation. He enumerated India's achievements in vaccine production, 5G technology, UPI payments, and technological advancements like the Tejas fighter jet, showcasing the nation's impactful contributions on the global stage.
