A case was registered on Tuesday against Union Minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar for alleged controversial remarks related to the Kerala blast incident. Chandrasekhar is accused of making statements that promoted enmity between different groups in the context of the Kerala blast, which occurred during a religious gathering of Jehovah's Witnesses in Kalamassery near Kochi.

The incident had taken place on Sunday, and following the reports of the bomb blasts, Rajeev Chandrasekhar posted critical comments on social media, targeting Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He accused the CM of engaging in "shameless appeasement politics" and criticized his response to the attacks.

This verbal exchange escalated on Monday when both the CM and Chandrasekhar engaged in a heated argument. Chandrasekhar labeled Vijayan as a "liar," while Vijayan referred to the Union Minister as "extremely venomous." In response to these developments, the Kerala CM stated that anyone making statements in violation of the law would face legal consequences, regardless of their position as central or state ministers.

Meanwhile, the Congress filed a complaint with the State Police Chief against Rajeev Chandrasekhar and other individuals, including BJP National Secretary Anil K. Antony, former Ernakulam MP Sebastian Paul, former BJP spokesperson Sandeep G. Varier, and Trinamool Congress Southern Indian Chapter Convener Riva Tholoor Philip. These individuals were accused of making hate comments aimed at stoking communal enmity in the state.

The complaint was filed by Sarin P., the Digital Media Cell Convener of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, who sought appropriate legal action to maintain peace in the state. As a result, an FIR was registered against the Union Minister under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Kerala Police Act.

The Kerala police filed the FIR in connection with Chandrasekhar's recent social media statements about the Kochi blasts and a virtual address by a Hamas leader at an event organized by an Islamist group in the Malappuram district of Kerala.

The Bharatiya Janata Party expressed its intention to face the case against Chandrasekhar both politically and legally, condemning the legal action taken against him. Chandrasekhar claimed that the FIR was a response to his exposure of the alleged appeasement of Hamas by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He accused both of these leaders of appeasing "poisonous radical violent organizations."

This legal action has generated significant controversy, with political parties and leaders expressing differing views on the matter. The situation is now under investigation by the relevant authorities.
