Patanjali Ayurveda has been granted a unique exemption by the Indian government, allowing the export of 20 tonnes of non-basmati white rice to Nepal as earthquake relief. Despite a ban on non-basmati white rice export, exceptions are made based on government permission, addressing specific countries' food security needs. The relief comes after Nepal was hit by a 6.4 magnitude earthquake, causing significant damage and loss of life.

The Indian government has granted Patanjali Ayurveda special permission to export 20 tonnes of non-basmati white rice to Nepal as relief for earthquake victims in an act of humanitarianism. This unusual one-time exemption permits the corporation to support relief operations in spite of the export prohibition on non-basmati white rice, which was put in place on July 20 to maintain local supplies.

In a statement confirming the exemption, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said, "Patanjali Ayurved Ltd is granted a one-time exemption from prohibition for the export of 20 MT of non-basmati white rice...as a donation to Nepal for earthquake victims."

This action is consistent with the government's strategy of approving exports only on the condition that they satisfy requests to support the food security needs of particular nations. 10,34,800 tons of non-basmati white rice were cleared for export in October by the DGFT to seven nations, including Nepal. Nepal has been assigned a quantity of 95,000 tons, indicating its importance as a market for Patanjali Ayurveda.

Over 250 individuals suffered injuries, while 153 lost their lives, and numerous properties were severely damaged. India has taken the lead in providing urgent aid to the affected regions, showcasing its swift response in delivering emergency relief supplies.

This remarkable export authorization demonstrates the fusion of business and humanitarianism and represents a significant advancement in India's crisis outreach to its neighbors.
