F-16 Fighter Jet from the US crashed near an Air Base in New Mexico, Pilot safely ejected

An F-16 fighter jet from Holloman Air Force Base crashed near White Sands National Park in New Mexico on Tuesday. The pilot ejected safely but was hospitalized. An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.

An F-16 fighter aircraft from Holloman Air Force Base crashed west of the base in New Mexico near the White Sands National Park on Tuesday, authorities proclaimed. The pilot made a successful ejection and was sent to a hospital for a detailed medical examination.

The crash occurred about 5 minutes before noon local time. The F16 jet crash place was close to the National Park, as had been said by the Base spokesperson Denise Ottaviano. I was the pilot as well as the sole passenger of the single-seat airplane.

As soon as the pilot bailed out, emergency workers were there to serve. After being recovered by paramedics, the pilot was taken by an ambulance to the nearest hospital where his injuries’ seriousness was not immediately known.

Analysis of the crash is underway to figure out what caused the crash, Ottavia said. She revealed that she recommended to the non-emergency personnel to be careful and avoid the crash site due to the potential chemical or flammable materials from the downed jet.

The F-16 in question was part of the tally of the 49th Wing, based at Holloman Air Force Base. Due to the fact the event is being handled by the air force, additional information are not yet disclosed.

With over 30 F-16 fighters, Holloman Air Force Base is also the largest training facility for such pilots. The base is located in southern New Mexico, at a distance of 90 miles from El Paso, Texas, in the northern parts.
