WhatsApp has announced a new voice chat feature that aims to facilitate smooth communication within large groups. This innovation aims to provide a less intrusive and more integrated communication experience by enabling live chat alongside group messaging. This feature allows groups of up to 33 to 128 members to participate in voice conversations and provides enhanced control and monitoring capabilities for administrators. Expected to be released in the coming weeks, it is expected to improve group communication across Android and iOS platforms.

Anticipating the World Cup match between India and New Zealand at the Wankhede, Rahul Dravid's team conducts thorough venue scouting. Meanwhile, WhatsApp, a Meta-owned platform, is gearing up to unveil advanced voice chat features. This new addition promises a smoother way to engage with larger groups on the platform.

Voice chat fosters real-time discussions among group members, seamlessly integrated into the typical message flow. Initiating a voice chat prompts members with a unique join notification distinct from conventional call alerts. The Bubbles in Chat feature streamlines access, enabling swift entry into a chat with a single click.

Within an audio conversation, administrators or organizers can monitor participants through a banner positioned at the screen's bottom. According to WhatsApp's official blog, these voice chats automatically conclude if everyone exits or there is no interaction for 60 minutes. This feature exclusively caters to base units and accommodates groups ranging from 33 to a maximum of 128 members.

Non-participating group members in a voice chat can peruse participant profiles from both the chat header and the Calls tab. Currently, WhatsApp permits voice calls for up to 32 participants. In forthcoming voice chats, call controls will be conveniently situated above the chat box.

Users can seamlessly multitask by sending text messages concurrently during voice chats. This improved voice chat feature is set to roll out to Android and iOS users in the coming weeks, with WhatsApp aiming to redefine group communication and provide a simpler and more comprehensive group interaction experience.
