Delhi prepares for the inaugural Khelo India Para Games in December 2023, involving 1350 athletes across seven disciplines. For the first time, Delhi is set to host the debut Khelo India Para Games in December 2023, an announcement made by Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. The Games, occurring from December 10-17, will span three stadiums in the national capital, welcoming 1350 athletes from 32 states and Union Territories across seven disciplines.

"This December 10-17, the inaugural Khelo India Para Games will unfold across various venues in New Delhi," Thakur shared via his official X account. The sporting extravaganza, spanning three SAI Stadiums, will feature para athletics, para shooting, para archery, para football, para badminton, para table tennis, and para weightlifting.

Notably, the event's magnitude is reflected in the participation of 1350 athletes hailing from 32 states and Union Territories, showcasing their prowess in seven diverse disciplines. These disciplines will unfold across three prominent stadiums - the IG Stadium, the Shooting Range in Tughlaqabad, and the JLN Stadium amplifying the Games' reach and impact.

Additionally, the Khelo India initiative, introduced in 2017, aims to revitalize India's sports culture at the grassroots level, fostering a robust framework for sports across the nation. It seeks to establish India as a formidable sporting nation, fostering sporting talent and excellence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently lauded the Indian para archery team's historic performance at the Asian Para Archery Championships, securing a remarkable nine medals, including four golds. He commended the athletes for their exceptional contribution, praising their dedication and determination.

The Khelo India Para Games mark a significant milestone in India's sports journey, celebrating talent, determination, and the spirit of sportsmanship on a grand stage.
