Sitharaman highlighted several initiatives, including the introduction of a unified Goods and Services Tax, the liberalization of foreign direct investment rules, and the simplification of labor laws. She also emphasized the government's commitment to developing physical infrastructure and digital connectivity to support economic growth.

The Finance Minister acknowledged that the COVID-19 pandemic had affected the Indian economy but stressed that the country had responded with a series of measures, including fiscal and monetary policy support, to mitigate the impact. She also noted that the government's vaccination drive was progressing well and expressed confidence in the country's ability to bounce back from the pandemic.
