In light of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, BJP aims to present PM Modi as the 'Hindu Hriday Samrat,' emphasizing Hindutva ideals. Shashi Tharoor highlighted the impending clash between Hindutva and broader public welfare issues, urging debates on economic growth and unmet promises. Tharoor's remarks underscore the evolving electoral landscape dominated by contrasting themes.

In the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls, BJP aims to position PM Modi as the 'Hindu Hriday Samrat,' emphasizing Hindutva ideologies, according to Congress leader Shashi Tharoor. Tharoor noted BJP's focus on projecting Modi as the embodiment of Hindu sentiments, marking significant events like the Ram Mandir inauguration in Ayodhya on January 22 and the BAPS Hindu Temple unveiling in Abu Dhabi on February 14. These events are set to precede the announcement of the Lok Sabha polls shortly after.

Tharoor's recent statement highlighted the election's likely theme: a clash between Hindutva principles and broader public welfare concerns. He underscored the necessity to debate critical issues such as economic growth, employment generation, and enhancing the financial status of the populace.

Reflecting on Modi's electoral journey, Tharoor pointed out the shift in narratives—from Modi being touted as Gujarat's development-oriented CEO in 2009 to the 2019 election pivoting towards national security following events like demonetization and the Pulwama attack.

Tharoor raised pertinent questions regarding the unfulfilled promises of 'Achhe din,' the pledged creation of two crore jobs annually, and the envisioned economic growth that would benefit all sections of society. These issues, Tharoor stressed, demand attention in an election landscape dominated by the contrasting themes of Hindutva and inclusive welfare policies.

The phrase 'Hindu Hriday Samrat,' translating to 'emperor of Hindu hearts,' draws parallels to its prior association with Shiv Sena's Bal Thackeray, as highlighted by Tharoor. This repositioning of Modi by the BJP aligns with its core messaging and historical resonance within certain political spheres.

As the Ram Mandir's inauguration nears, slated for January 22, it marks a significant milestone in Indian history, setting the stage for a politically charged electoral climate.
