In the lead-up to the impending Rajasthan Assembly Election 2023, the state's BJP has registered a formal complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner, targeting Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The grievance centers around allegations of "spreading lies with malicious intentions" against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public rally. The saffron party also claims that Gandhi violated the Model Code of Conduct at the Sikrai village meeting in Dausa on October 20.

The complaint was officially submitted by Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore to the state's Chief Election Commissioner. Rathore, on the 'X' platform (formerly known as Twitter), conveyed the BJP's concerns about the breach of the code of conduct, especially regarding religious sentiments in Gandhi's public address in Dausa.

Rathore remarked, "Demanded that necessary legal action be taken in connection with the serious case of malicious making of false statements against Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji."

In her Sikrai rally, Priyanka Gandhi alleged that the BJP aimed to perpetuate its rule without regard for the welfare of the people. She criticized BJP leaders for consistently invoking religion and caste during election periods. Gandhi questioned why issues related to religion were emphasized only during elections, urging a more focused discussion on development.
