In a perplexing twist of Bihar politics, Nitish Kumar's intentions remain shrouded, leaving both the BJP and Congress in suspense. Speculations are rife about Kumar potentially parting ways with the Opposition shortly before the impending general elections. To address the mounting uncertainty, the BJP has scheduled a crucial meeting of its MPs and MLAs in Patna on January 27. This assembly aims to dissect the prevailing political landscape and formulate a comprehensive strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Meanwhile, the Congress has also convened a meeting of its party MLAs in Purnea at 2 pm today. However, the party maintains that this gathering is unrelated to the ongoing political developments in Bihar. Sources suggest that Nitish Kumar is poised to realign himself with the BJP in the lead-up to the Lok Sabha elections, the dates for which are yet to be disclosed.

Bihar BJP chief Samrat Choudhary disclosed that today's meeting will primarily focus on the party's approach for the general elections. Responding to speculations regarding a potential re-entry of Nitish Kumar into the NDA fold, Choudhary asserted, "No such thing has been discussed at our level." On the contrary, Sushil Modi, a senior BJP leader and MP, emphasized the dynamic nature of politics, stating, "No door is closed in politics. The door can be opened if needed."

Simultaneously, Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan's meeting with party MLAs and former legislators in Purnea has sparked curiosity. Khan dismissed reports linking the gathering to the ongoing political turmoil, clarifying that it is centered around preparations for Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,' entering Bihar on January 29. Notably, speculation abounds that Nitish Kumar might eschew participating in Rahul Gandhi's Yatra, choosing instead to share the stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public meeting next month.
